RAW Filters and Mouthpieces
RAW Filters and Mouthpieces is a group of accessories placed at the end of a hand-rolled cigarette. They define its shape, make it easier to hold, and help keep loose dry herb away from the mouth.
List of products
A small mouthpiece noticeably affects the whole construction: it stabilizes the end, helps maintain an opening, and limits crushing during use. Options may look similar, but preparation method, perforations, dimensions, and stiffness lead to different shaping methods and perceived comfort.
Mouthpiece and filter — similar names, different purposes
In accessory terminology, filter, tip, and mouthpiece are sometimes used interchangeably. However, a cardboard mouthpiece does not work like a fiber filter. Its primary role is to stiffen the end, maintain an open passage, and limit dry-herb particles reaching the mouth.
It can also make paper easier to roll evenly and provide a convenient place to hold it. Do not attribute filtration properties without clear information about the specific option's material and construction. The name “filter” alone therefore does not determine how it works.
The main mouthpiece forms
A flat strip offers the most freedom in shaping. You can begin with a few folds to form a core, then wrap the remaining part around it. This construction helps maintain an opening and creates a barrier to loose particles, while the final diameter depends on how it is rolled.
A perforated option has marked lines that make even folds easier. It is useful when a consistent shape matters without manually measuring the starting section. Perforation does not turn a mouthpiece into a filter; it primarily guides its construction.
A ready-made, pre-rolled tip does not require building the core from scratch. Its diameter and shape are already set, making preparation faster but allowing less flexibility than a flat strip. It is a different practical form, not automatically a better version of the same accessory.
Dimensions and stiffness change how it is used
Strip dimensions affect mouthpiece length, how much it can be rolled, and its possible diameter. A larger piece provides more material for shaping but also occupies more space in the finished construction. For pre-rolled mouthpieces, the preset format is essential and cannot be adjusted as freely as a flat version.
Stiffer material supports the end's shape better, while more flexible material is easier to form. Core construction also matters: regular folds and an even wrap help prevent accidentally closing the opening.
Within this category, the RAW name does not replace information about product form. The practical essentials are flat or preformed construction, perforations, individual item format, and quantity. These features determine how the accessory behaves during preparation.
Packaging options and storage
Flat mouthpiece strips are usually bound in a convenient booklet from which individual pieces are removed, while pre-rolled tips need packaging that protects their shape. Packaging affects carrying convenience and access to individual items but does not itself specify their dimensions.
Read the number of strips or ready-made pieces together with the option type. The same quantity may represent a different amount of preparation work when one pack contains flat pieces to shape yourself and another contains pre-rolled tips.
Paper and cardboard accessories retain their form best in a dry place, away from moisture and pressure. Closed packaging limits bent edges, accidental unrolling of prepared mouthpieces, and dirt on the surface intended for mouth contact.
Key Information
- Flat strips let you shape the mouthpiece core yourself
- Perforations make regular folds at the start of the tip easier
- Ready-made, rolled mouthpieces shorten preparation
- Dimensions and stiffness affect the end's diameter and stability
- Quantity and packaging form determine the supply size
